has planned a short reunion run through the US this summer following
a successful one-off show last August.
The 10-city jaunt gets underway June 17 in Hollywood, FL, stopping by
amphitheaters along the East Coast as well as a July 1 performance in
Clarkston, MI. The final gig is currently set for July 4 in Atlantic
City. Details are below.
The surviving members of the classic rock band--vocalist Paul Rodgers,
guitarist Mick Ralphs and drummer Simon Kirke--will be accompanied by
bassist Lynn Sorensen from Rodgers' solo band and former Heart guitarist
Howard Leese.
Bad Company rose to fame in 1974 with the group's self-titled debut,
which peaked at No. 1 on Billboard's Pop Albums chart and produced hits "Can't
Get Enough" and "Movin' On." The band's last release, "Stories Told & Untold," hit
shelves in 1996.

SEX and VIOLINS' debut release is a phenomenal piece of work. There are several
different musical styles here and the band have pulled off the impressive task
of cooking it all up into a flavorful gumbo of sound that you're not likely to
mistake for anyone else. At the same time, they have enough rock bottom elements
in their music to be accessible to most anyone who stumbles across them. An outstanding
debut release by and amazing rock band. SEX and VIOLINS could very well become
a force to reckoned with in modern rock. Hats off to Lynn Sorensen and the rest

Lynn finishes latest Clever
Bastards album

After after nearly two years worth of writing
and recording we are pleased to announce the completion of dumbitdown The
album contains 13 brand new tracks with Mr President already gaining major
attention in Europe.

Members are Jeff Kathan, drums, and
me on vocals, violin and bass. Expect a full CD by spring 2007. I'll
be shooting our first video for the title track Sex And Violins (give
a listen on my music page) at the end of January in Las Vegas. they
are closing down Fremont Street for the shoot and from what I understand,
I'll be murderd by my love interest at the end. There'll be a few people
that'll be glad to see that!! Ryan Valdez (Panic At The Disco, Tool,
Nora Jones)will be producing and directing.
RODGERS TO RELEASE HIS FIRST SOLO DVD ON EAGLE ROCK

Paul Rodgers will release his first solo dvd April 17
2007 on the Eagle Rock label. The DVD was shot in Glasgow, Scotland October
13 at the Clyde Auditorium. The sold out concert was the last in a series
of 8 sold out UK concert dates. The band on the DVD includes guitarists Howard
Leese and 17 year old Kurtis Dengler, bassist Lynn Sorensen and Ryan Hoyle
from
"Collective Soul" on drums..
I will be playing with Paul
Rodgers in the UK from October 1 - 13, 2006. The
legendary Royal Albert Hall in London is the second gig! See you
there..........
The program will include all acts on the main stage - Paul Rodgers with Special
Guest Nils Lofgren of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band will perform along with
Kiss, Alice In Chains, Pusscat Dolls, Sebastian Bach, Taylor Hawkins, Soft and
others at the 2006 Udo Music Festival from Mount Fuji.

LEESE Interview with the band behind the Paul Rodgers Band by The Atomic Chaser
and The Rocker
Between the three of
them, they have played with some of rock's elite bands. Dixon
House, Montrose, Heart and Randy Meisner to name a few.
Drummer, Jeff Kathan, bassist Lynn Sorensen and guitarist
Howard Leese have truly done their time and paid their dues.
Every musician dreams about playing with a music legend. Well
folks, these three fine musicians dream has come true. Landing
the mother of all gigs. Backing up one of rock and rolls true
legends, Paul Rodgers.
AAM spoke with Jeff
Kathan, Lynn Sorensen and Howard Leese on how playing with and
how they landed the gig with true rock legend, Paul Rodgers.
Now playing in Paul
Rodgers? band, the musicians have to bring their "A" game.
Your backing up the guy who rocked the world in FREE and BAD
COMPANY. The voice behind such classics like, "All Right Now"
and "Feel Like Makin' Love". So how did you guys get the gig?
Jeff
Kathan: " First of all let me say that its an
unbelievable honor playing with Paul Rodgers, my favorite
rock and roll singer of all time! Before joining Paul, I was
playing in Howard Leeses' band along with bassist Jason
Boyelston when I got the call. Someone saw us playing at a
show. The person who saw us was a good friend with Paul's
manager. They were looking for a band and asked if I was
interested. I told them ABSOLUTELY! So all three of us,
Myself, Howard and Jason went to audition for the band.
Everyone in the business wanted the gig. As luck would have
it, we got the gig. Due to other commitments, Jason could not
play in the band. They asked if I knew a bass player and I
suggested Lynn, along with guitarist, Joe Shikany ." Lynn Sorenson: "Adding Joe Shikany on second
guitar gives the band some muscle. When I got the call to join
the band, there was no time for rehearsal. Next thing I know,
we are in Las Vegas and I am trading harmonies with Paul
Rodgers!" Lynn added, "Paul is amazing! He still has that
range, he's incredible." Howard Leese:
"When Jeff and I played together in my Band, we'd ask each
other what songs did we want to rehearse to. One of the songs
was FREE's "All Right Now". So playing it now in Paul's band
is great."
So what's it like
to play on stage with Paul Rodgers? JK: "It's out of the
world! I've been with Paul for seven years now and he sounds
better now than he's ever did." LS: "I
remember that first show in Las Vegas. I looked over to Paul
and we're doing "Feel Like Makin' Love" and thinking OH MY GOD
I'm singing with Paul Rodgers. It?s a blast playing on stage
with Paul." HL:"Paul is incredible and sharing the stage
with him is great!"
Will you guys be going into the studio soon to
record? LS:
"We worked on some cool songs. I was really happy with what we
accomplished. Paul has put some flesh on some ideas. Looking a
more organic sound"
Will you guys be touring this year?
HL: "We have a couple of
shows at the end of March. Then we?ll go to Europe for some
rock festivals." JK: "Paul normally is
a big time road warrior doing tons of shows a year. This time
around he wants to take it easy. I know we have some new gigs
just added to the tour, so who knows."
Paul Rodger's career is spread over four
decades. The set-list must be huge. Will you guys be doing the
entire Paul Rodger's catalog? LS: "All the FREE stuff,
all the BAD COMPANY stuff and even the BLUES stuff. The
set-list changes from show to show. It's a good thing we
added, Joe Shikany to give all the songs some beef and songs
sound fuller." HL: "On some shows we
could do the whole Jimi Hendrix catalog. So yeah, it changes
from show to show." JK: "When your
playing with Paul Rodgers you have to be ready for anything.
Let me give you an example. It was at a show we did in
Tennessee. We hadn't played, "Movin' On" in years. All of a
sudden Paul says we're opening with it. I literally brought
the tape down. Just our luck, no one had a cassette player. We
had the promoter grab a truck, pull it up to us and the band
stood there learning the song. After just one listen, we
walked up on stage and nailed it!" Jeff added,
"Paul is not afraid to go anywhere for a show. You
have to be ready. In England they wanted all FREE songs and no
BAD COMPANY."
Looking
forward to hitting the road? JK:"I?m looking forward
to going on tour. I am ready now if you ask me. Every show I
played with Paul is just incredible!" HL: "Most definitely. We have a lot of shows on
the books, we're going to have a great time. Now that all the
pieces are in place. Jeff, Lynn, Howard and Joe are looking
forward to taking their versatile and energetic talents to
the next level. To be part of making the legend Paul Rodgers
one that will be talked about for years to come. The
professionalism and dedication as musicians is a testament
to what giving one hundred percent is all about. Jeff, Lynn,
Howard and Joe will be part of rock and roll history in the
making. It couldn't happen to a better group of, not
only musicians, but people as well.
